Prof. Maria Chatzinikolaidou is one of the newly elected Governing Council members of IAMBE, starting from January 1, 2025 for the next 3 years.
In an article published in Science Advances, Prof. Pavlos Savvidis (Westlake University & IESL's Visiting Researcher), Dr David Petrosyan (Research Director) and their younger colleagues and collaborators report on the experimental realization and characterization of a novel platform for analog quantum computation with semiconductor exciton-polaritons.
The Hellenic Institute of Advanced Studies (https://hellenic-ias.org/) is proud to organize the 1st Photonics Hellenic sympOSium (PHOS), aiming to bring together distinguished Photonics leaders from the Hellenic diaspora and Greece.
PHOS will take place on October, 7-8 at the Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas, Heraklion Crete Greece.

This work discusses the formation of large-scale gold nanostructure arrays implementing single-pulse direct laser writing. The high-quality hybrid lattice plasmons are excited in such gratings in the visible to near-infrared range. The study demonstrates the tunability of the plasmonic properties by changing the morphology of the nanostructures from round-shaped bumps to sharp jet-like structures. These findings suggest the potential for development of an accurate plasmon-based sensing platform in biotechnology and photonics.
