The general objective of NANO-TANDEM is to demonstrate High performance Perovskite/III-V Semiconductor Nanostructure Tandem Solar Cells.
The project will first chemically synthesize halide perovskites of increased stability with energy gaps around 1.1 eV and 1.9 eV, which are appropriate for tandem solar cells with GaAs. In parallel, single-junction perovskite or GaAs-thin film solar cells will be developed and compared to prior art. Next, tandem perovskite/III-V semiconductor nanostructure solar cells of increased efficiency will be fabricated and characterized.
