L. Papadimitriou is a PostDoctoral Researcher in the IESL, FORTH. She received her PhD in Molecular Biology/Immunology from the University of Crete in 2009. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Biomedical Research Foundation of Academy of Athens (BRFAA), at the Biology Department of the University of Crete and at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB). Her main research interests focus on the interaction of cells with biomaterials for tissue engineering applications and on the study of the immuno-modulatory potential of biomaterials and scaffolds. Her research interests include the study of biocompatibility and immunocompatibility of potential implantable biomaterials and the investigation of the interaction of cells and scaffolds, in the concept of morphological, physiological and molecular aspects of their interface. She is also interested in the anti-microbial performance of nanotextured multifunctional surfaces for medical applications.
