This is the second such meeting following the successful organization of the first one in 2019 aspiring to establish it as an IESL tradition.

Position Description
FORTH is seeking for one (1) PhD Candidate. The candidate will enroll in modelling and development of a source of pure, high-density, spin-polarized hydrogen atoms, which will then be transferred to DESY (in Hamburg) to be used as a spin-polarized target for the production of a high-energy spin-polarized electron beam, via laser ion acceleration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the Physical Sciences
- Master's Degree in the Physical Sciences
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Laser Spectroscopy
- Experience with programming

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to research in metasurfaces using Two-Photon Polymerization (2PP). The successful candidate will work closely with senior researchers and collaborators to design, fabricate, and characterize novel metasurface structures with tailored optical properties. Key Responsibilities: Design and simulation of metasurface structures using computational tools Fabrication of metasurfaces using Two-Photon Polymerization (2PP) and other advanced nanofabrication techniques. Characterization of optical properties using microscopy, spectroscopy, and other relevant tools. Contribute to project planning, experimental design, and data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Physics
- MSc in a Science Discipline
- Experience in 2PP
- Experience in metasurfaces
- Working knowledge of English

- Degree in Physics or Computer Science with expertise in some of the following fields: Data Science, Data Processing, Web Services, Information Modeling, Knowledge Representation and Semantic
- Data Management, Open Science and application of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) in multi-disciplinary scientific fields.
- Proven skills in designing and developing open-source software tools and information systems.
Desirable Qualifications
A relevant master's degree and/or previous experience with EU projects.
