Position Description
Design, fabrication and characterization of novel SiC electrodes for minimally invasive monitoring of the
nervous system. Characterization of electrode performance and long-term stability. Design,
implementation and analysis of experiments to characterize the performance of electrodes (readings,
stimulation) in neurocultures (in vitro) and in the nervous system (in vivo). This project is funded by the
FORTH Synergy grant “BioHySiC” and will be carried out in collaboration with IMBB-FORTH.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Physics/ Material science
- PhD in Physics/ Material science
- Experimental laboratory experience in the fabrication of semiconductor devices
- Relevant publications
Desirable Qualifications
- Background knowledge in electrode applications in neuroscience
- Knowledge in neuromechanics
- Cell culture, Animal models neuroscience
